Ben the family man

Ben was a true family man loving time with his wife, Tracey, and his two wonderful children, Poppy and Harry. The family enjoyed taking regular trips together and actively engaging with the tightknit community in their village, North Newbald. Ben was also close to his parents, Derek and Pauline, and his siblings, Sarah and Oliver. Together with their families, they went on regular group holidays to favoured childhood destinations.

Ben the Summiteer

Ben was an integral part of Summit for over 12 years, during which time he had a huge impact on everyone who worked alongside him. Ben was instrumental in growing Summit to become a truly international business serving clients around the world. Throughout his career at Summit he had a number of leadership roles, including Director of Digital Strategy and, most recently, Managing Director for Performance Consulting. Ben was the embodiment of Summit’s values – passion, honesty, teamwork, kindness and learning. He was a source of guidance and support for colleagues across the business, and he regularly travelled overseas to represent Summit on a global stage.

Ben the socialiser

Ben never missed an opportunity to socialise. He would regularly be found in a fancy-dress outfit drinking pints, engaging in heartfelt discussions with friends and colleagues, or tearing up the dancefloor. At events he was known for taking a drinking buddy under his wing (or in his words, allowing them to select themselves as his next victim) and sharing shots of tequila – or Becherovka and Slivovice during his trips to Summit’s Prague office. Ben’s presence always guaranteed a good party.

Ben our friend

Ben was a keen Derby County football supporter and enjoyed playing regular games of squash and badminton. His barbecuing skills were second-to-none, and he loved to go out for a hearty meal with family or friends. He was king of the ‘dad joke’, making all who knew him laugh with his humour and quick wit.
